AQUATICS.
Most of our yachts will be back by to-morrow from their long summer cruises, and from interim reports to hand the crews have for the most part had exceedingly pleasant trips .arouivl the Hauraki (with no lack of wind), winding up with the Waiheke regatta on New Year's Day.
A Viennese engineer has constructed a small sailing yacht made entirely of sheets of an Austrian daily paper. The yacht is 15ft. long and 3ft. Ie decked all over, and is provided with a centre-board. The hull, decks, masts, sails, and rudder are all of paper. The inventor has made many trips on the Woerth See, in # Carinthia, and has proved that his paper boat can sail rap* idly and safely even when the water is rough and the wind high.
