General Babington went to Waikaremoana yesterday, en route to Eotorua.
WESTPOB.T, Thursday.
The Westport Athenaeum and Public Library was totally destroyed by fire this afternoon, only a few books being saved. Included in those lost were several first editions of Dickens' works. The insurances were: £320 on tHe building', £160 On the books, £20 on the furniture, all in the Imperial. The loss is fully £500 over the insurance.
