The Whatawhata races yesterday were very successful, but the fields were not so large as usual. A protest against Repetition, winner of the Cup on the grounds that Wilson, the jockey, is unregistered, wae held over till Saturday. A further protest against Puffing Billy, who wae second for the Cup, on the ground of inconsistent running, will be considered at the same time. Only two started. _ , Maidenl Plate.—Lady Peeress J, Velea 3i Hangitangi 3, Cup.-Repetition 1, Puffing Billy 8, Kingsman also started. Won easily. Flying Handicap.—Lady Peeress L Kingsjnan 2, Hanarjjn 3. Only starters. Won with ease.
