A very pleasant picnic was held yesiterday at Long Bay, when, on the invitation of Captain Biddiek, about 80 people, including the campers at Kohimarama and St. Helier's Bay, made the journey in the Vesper. Sports and games were indulged in by all present till 5.30 p.m., when a start was made for home. On arrival at Kohimarama hearty cheers were given for Captain Biddick and family, thus terminating one of the most enjoyable excursions held this season.

Miss Irving, from Auckland, has been accepted by the Bishop as a member of the staff. All will welcome the news of Mr Cullwick's preferment to the Archdeaconry of the South, and of his succession to Archdeacon Palmer in his work here. It Is {Welcome news also that Archdeacon. Cull wick is very much better, end is making splendid progress. He, with Ida wife and family, sail on a year's Beare of absence by this month's Steamer, first to Australia- ana then jfco.
