Fifteen thousand occupied the amphitheatre at to-day's durbar. The day was one of unbr : oken sun~-
shine,
King Edward was proclaimed amid tumultous cheering.
Lord Curzon read King Edward's message expressive of affection and admiration of India; and his desire to maintain unimpaired the principles 6f a humane and equitable administration.
King Edward's reference to a probable early visit to India by the Prince of Wales was warmly acclaimed.
The Maharanee of Jaipur has given a lakh of rupees to the Indian people as a famine trust..
