Some excitement was occasioned in ;i shipping circles yesterday (says the Sydney "Telegraph"' of December 25) f by the report of the death of Cap. r tain George Brown, of the ship Ainslie,-: which, recently arrived in port after a fine run from Valparaiso. Entering the captain's cabin about eight o'clock, the chief officer found him lyino- on his bed. with a revolver hr his right hand and a bullet wound in the head; Dr Lockhead was immediately summoned, and on his ap. ! rival pronounced life extinct.
