RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB'S MEETING.
MARTON, Thursday.
Boisterous weather with light showers of rain prevailed for the Kangitlkel races. There was a large attendance. The totallsator receipts were £6525, an increase of £2017 on the last summer meeting's first day. The results are:—
Flying.—Perfection 1, Romanoff 2, Cave 3. Won by a length. Time, 1.211-5. Dividend, £4 2/. Maiden.—Handsome Rose Contingent 2, Wairere 3. Also ran: Katoa, Pistola, Waitohl, Heartless, Tirole, Wind, Rouble, Won fairly easy. Time, 1.34 1-5. Dividends, £7 12/ and £1 18/. Hurdles.—Light 1, Ashleaf 2, Kohunui 3. Also ran: Roer. Won easily. Time, 3.12. Dividend, £3 15/. Hack Hurdles.—Otairi 1, Beau Ideal 2, Merry Boy 3. Also ran: Romany Lad. Time, 3.1. Dividend, £2 1/. Hack Flying.—Shrapnel 1, Mussel 2, Excise 3. Also ran: Rebellious, Dalkey. Time, 1.19 1-5, Dividends, £115/ and £1 2/. Cup.—Motor 1, Convoy 2, Bowman 3. All started. A splendid race. Won by half a length. Time, 2.41. Dividends, £2 10/ and 15/. Parewanui Hack.—Dick Turpin 1, Hardwork~2, Lifebelt 3. Also ran: Ganger, Black Wing. Won easily by three lengths. Time, 1.48. Dividends, £2 IS/ and £1 6/.
