ACCIDENTS.
NAKROW ESGAPE AT HAMILTON. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.J HAMILTON, this day. Mr W. BE. Soper had a narrow escape from being killed on Saturday afternoon. He was driving1 over the railway crossing- at Hamilton1 West and did not see a train approaching till too late stop. Bis horse was paralysed ■with fear and stopped half way 'across the line. The Westingl- -' house brake was promptly applied, and the train was brought to a standStill, the head of the engine resting against the body of the buggy. No damage was- done. The engine driver deserves the highest commendation for his prompt action.
