MATAKOHE, this day. Mr. .Gerald Peacocke had excellent meetings at Whakapirau, Paparoa, Matakohe and Hukatere. After the meeting at the latter -place the settlers ballotted to select a candidate for_ a block vote, and almost resulted in a unanimous decision for Mr. Peacocke.
