AUCKLAND CITY.
j[r J. H. Witheford has been nominated for Auckland City by Messrs Geo. Seager, Joseph Raynes, Nelson, j W- Patterson, McCalluna, P. Neherney, A. G. Baddiley, J. W. Hewson. Mr J. H. Hannan addressed a large meeting at St. Benedict's Hall on Friday evening, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confiilr W. J- Napier spoke to a large meeting in the Foresters' Hall on Friday night, Mr F. Laking in the chair. A vote of thanks and confidence -was carried unanimously. Messrs. Fawcus and Rosser addressa -well-attended meeting of the electors at the Grafton-road Schoolroom. i\{r Horning, president of the Trades Labour Council, was in the chair. The candidates spoke of borrowing, railway construction, initiation and referendum, and the effect of labour laws on the wage-earners. After answerino- several questions, on the motion of Mr. Jas. Aggers a hearty vote of thanks was accorded both speaker j\ E. Baume speaks in the Grafton 'Schoolroom, Nugent-street, tonight.
