THE PREMIER
ARRIVAL AT THE CAPE,
This morning we received a cablegram from the Premier, the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, dated Capetown, September 29, stating that he arrived there on the 25th inst. from England in the s.s. Tongariro, and that he and the other New Zealanders on board were well. He also states that there are on board the Tongariro forty officers and men of the South African contingents, who formed portion of the New Zealand Coronation Contingent.
A meeting of citizens was convened by His Worship the Mayor for this afternoon at the City Council Chambers, for the purpose of considering arrangements for a fitting reception to the Premier on his arrival in Auckland, from England ne_rb month.
