ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT

Mrs. Myra Taylor, who was arrested uirler such sensational circumstances on Tuesday for the attempted murder of Michael Whelan, was charged at the Police Court here this morning. The case has aroused great interest, and the courthouse w"as crowded, while there was a large ' gathering outside desirous of catching a glimpse of tie accused woman. ° Mrs. Taylor, who wore male attire when she was arrested, appeared in Court in female dress. Her hair had been cropped very close. The unfortunate woman, appeared to feel her position keenly. While the Justices took their seats she sat with head bowed, and it could easily be seen that she was in a state of high nervous tension.
The police asked for a remand until the sth September, which the Bench granted.- Accused xpade no reply when asked if sh- had any objection to a remand. No bail was fixed ana none asked for.
Accused, when on board the steamer, was travelling as John Lennox.
