LONDON, August 28. Warner and E. Douglas continued the Middlesex second innings.

Warner, after batting- well for an hour, arid putting- together' 25, was given out leg-before to Tnimble. Two wickets for 51. :

R. Douglas/after making eight; had a similar experience.: Three- wickets for 70.

Wells was caught by Gregory Sat cover-point; Four wickets for 83. . Tratt totalled up) 21 in halfan- :- hour's play, another of Gregory's cover-point catches ferrii^nating his career. Five wickets for 113.

Beldam and Bosanquet played out time, the former being two hours at the wicket, and making an admirabledefence. -

The weather was bright and sun' shiny when -the game was resumed this "morning. The wicket was good and the attendance fail. .

Bosanquet was quickly out legbefore, after an excellent partnership with Beldam. Six wickets for 152.

- MacGregor, who followed, smartly hit up twenty, when Howell bowled him. Seveis wickets for 178.

Beldam continued to swell the score, but Schwarz, who joined him, had only made three when he gave Hopkins a catch. Eight wickets for 189. -'■ ■'■' '■■■"■

Beldam was the next dismissed, succumbing to a ball from Howell. Nine wickets for 200.

Hearne, the last man, joined Nieholls, but was caught by Darling for the addition of three to the total.

When the Australians commenced their second innings, requiring 176 to win, Trumper and Duff rattled up 44 before they were separated by Wells bowling Trumper. Hill made a single, and was then clean bowled by Beldam. Two wickets for .47.

Noble came in, only to see Duff stumped. Three wickets for 47. Armstrong joined Noble, and then a long partnership ensued. Both commenced steadily scoring, being equally well set. After carrying the total to 144, W Tells dismissed Armstrong for 47, Noble having-by this time obtained 46.

Hopkin-s assisted Noble to obtain the' requisite. number of runs, the ga.me ending in a victory for the Australians by six wickets.
