It is understood that the Eastern Extension Cable Company lias provisionally agreed, pending the settlement of its controversy with the Commonwealth Government, to assimilate the cable charges throughout Australia.
It is rumoured that the Company in taking this action has in view the probability of a twenty years' agreement with the Federal Government.
