The advent of Mr. Harry Rfclcards* No. 1 company of vaudeville stars, who make their first appearance in Auckland on Thursday evening, is looked fcrward to with an unusual amount of interest. An unusually large number of seats have been booked for the season, which promises, to be a highly successful cne. 'Uer Excellency the Countess of "Ranfurly was to present the prizes won at the recent Ladies' Golf Championship this afternoon, but the function was postponed owing to the state of the weather. His Excellency the Governor visits the Chelsea Sugar Works on Thursday, and in the evening attends the performance by Cinquevalli at the Opera House. On Saturday he drives out to ITowiclc to visit the veterans resident there. Lad) r Ranfurly will attend the Dolores' recital on Friday evening; and on Thursday week will attend a meeting of the Mothers' Union at St. Matthew's. An "At Home" will be given by the Countess on Monday afternoon. t
The annual conference of the Municipal Bodies' Association will open at Wellington on July 7. So far the majority of the. subjects for discussion have been submitted by Auckland.
