WELLINGTON, this day. The fallowing cable has been received from the Agent-General dated London, May 10:— " The mutton market is very firm. The average price of Canterbury is -Jid; Dunedin and Southland and W.M.E. Co., -Md; other North Island HkO. Shipments now arriving are small, and there is a shortage from all sources compared with arrivals last year, viz., 630,000 carcases since January 1. Lamb: Quiet. No change in prices. The weather lately has been j very unfavourable. To date there hay been an increase from all sources (against last year) of 337,000 since January 1. River Plate arrivals show an increase of 70,000 carcases during the same period. Beef: Firm. New Zealand hinds, ogd; fores, 4!d. - '.' Transactions in. butter are very limited, and the market is steady at 103/. " Cheese: Very firm at 59/. ! " Hemp: Dull, at £37. June and August shipments, £32. "No alteration in cocksfoot seed since last week." '■_'-..
