cleared at an advantage of one-eighth of a penny. Leather, firm. First quality hides, IAJ; second quality, ll_d; basils unchanged. Mutton: Crossbred withers and maiden ewes, CanterburVM=--16d, Dunedin and Southland, 4 l-16d; North Island, 3 15-16 d. Lamb, prime Canterbury, sd; fair average (including Dunedin, Southland, and Wellington, and secondary Canterbury), 4Jd. River Plate - crossbred or ' merino wethers, heavy and light, '23d. New Zealand beef (ISO to 220 lbs), fair average quality , ox fores, nominal, 42d; hinds, sid. (These prices are official quotations furnished by the Frozen Meat Trade Association. The basis of the quotations is the sale of lines o£ not less than 100 carcases of mutton or lamb, or 25 quarters or" beef. All quotations for mutton are for fair average quality. Quotations for New Zealand Mamb do not include sales of small lambs or heavies of inferior quality). Wheat: An Australian cargo sold at 30/ and another was re-sold at 31/. -
