Wind.—Heavy gale from between south, scuth-west and west at all places eastward of Tauranga, Taupo and Wanganui -ale from between south and west and north-west thence northward; from beween west and south and south-east, elsewhere. . Barometer.—Further rise everywhere. Sea—Heavy on Western Coast and on Eastern Coast between Kaikoura anu East Cape; considerable elsewhere. Tides.—High on aU Eastern Coast, from East Cape southward: moderate thence northward; high all Western Coast of North Island; moderate on Western roast of South.lsland. Rain may bo. expected generally. AVarning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria, and at Capes Campbell, Kaikoura, and Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point. Synopsis of the last 48 hours.—Falling barometer everywhere until' about midnight on Sunday, and since then pressure h;ie risen c% rerywhere. Northerly gales have been prevalent northward of Napier and Wanganui, with rain. In the South Island snow has fallen on high country. Frost is reported southward of Oamaru and Queehstown.
