ST. JOHN'S ANNIVERSARY.
The services in celebration of the 25th anniversary of St. John's Methodist Church. Ponsonby, were held yesterday. The Eev. J. J. Lewis preached to a large congregation in the forenoon on "The Temptation of Our Lord." The Eev. C JL. Garland spoke in the afternoon on "Fighting the Good Fight of Faith," and the Eev. W. Eeady conducted the evening service, preaching on "Christ Purifying the Temple." Tbe choir rendered several anthems and a trio and quartette at the services, and Miss Harris sang the solo "Two Cities." The church was .beautifully decorated by the ladies of the church. To-morrow night the services will be continued-, and the Eev. Hugh Kelly will deliver his lecture "Half an Hour with lan Maclaren.". *
