THE CIRCUS.
Wirth Bros.' Circus and Menagerie will open on the Freeman's Bay reclamation on Tuesday, May 13, for a short season. A contemporary, criticising the show, says:-^-"The spacious marquee was crowded, and the numerous performers justified the high opinions formed in regard to them. There was an exceedingly clever turn between Guilliame and the clown. The vaulting act of Alexander, the bucking elephant, the invisible wire performance of Mademoiselle Annette, the wonderful jumping of the greyhounds, and the drill of Mr P. Wirth's horses were in themselves a great feature, of the show. The triple tiger act stands alone. The great kittens are undoubtedly on the best of terms with M. Rahoul, but it is impossible ho contemplate without a shudder what might happen. The ponies Corbett and Fitzsimmons, the riding bear Jack, Miss Marizles, Miss ' Edith Wirth, and Mr J. Welby Cooke are adepts in their respective lines."
