The Chief Justice delivered judg* ment this morning, quashing the con* victions in the Chinese gaining cases. In giving judgment, the Chief Jus» tice held that in any offence punish* able with more than three months* imprisonment . the accused person could SemanH a jury, but by a blun« der in the.Act justices could try sucU a case even if a jury was demanded. .
