DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.

The usual week end audience assembled" at the City Hall on Saturday evening, the building being crowded both upstairs and down. A radical change in the programme was introduced, the first part being suspended in favour of a complete vaudeville entertainment. The alteration proved entirely successful. Miss Lizzie Kirk and Mr Frank Leon, whp made their final appearance, were heartily farewelled having to appear again and again. Mr Ernest Fitts scored his usual- success in his baritone solos, "Thou Art My Life" and "Dreams of My Own Land," both of which were excellently rendered. His encore piece, "The Yeoman's Wedding," wa<? also successful. Miss Olive Lenton, who is an established favourite, was warmly encored for her contributions. Mr Frank Clark's humorous songs and sketches were heartily enjoyed, and Mr Fred Riventhall's items were also received with hearty approbation. The farce "School," by Mr Clark, caused a great deal of laughter. Miss Connie Devereux and Miss Pearl Lovell were successful, in their items. To-morrow night Afhas and Collins make their re-appearance for a short season. These artists are among the most important engagements made by Mr Dix, and were highly successful on their last appearance.
