RATING OF GAS PIPES.
LIABILITY OF GAS COMPANIES
FOR RATES,

CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Mr. I Beetham gave judgment this morning in a case concerning the liability to rating of gas companies' pipes and mains. He said that as all th» companies in the colony were stated to be concerned in the result, it would be best to decide the matter in the' Supreme Court. He accordingly gave judgment in favour of trie assessment, so that the decision could be appealed from to the Higher Court.
