J WELLINGTON, this day. • Wind: Gale from between north-east and north-west.at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan; from between north-east, east, and south-east elsewhere.
Barometer: Fall everywhere. Sea* Heavy on Western Coast of North Island northward of Cape Egmont, and between Cape Farewell Spit, Nelson and Westport: also on Eastern Coast north■Jard of Lytteiton; considerable thence Southward; moderate on West Coast south of Westport. Tides* Very high on East Coast north wf ttast Catie: high thence to Kaikoura; southward; high on Western St north'of Cape Egmont .and be ween Nelson Cape Farewell, and Westpoit, Moderate between Cape Egmont and Fox°Rain is expected at all places north of jSfugget Point and Queenstown. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Tiritiri, and for easterly gaies at Cape Campbell, Farewell Spit, ioui.wind,' and Nugget Point. Synopsis of the last IS hours: Northward of Napier and New Plymouth pressure has decreased slowly, with strong easterly winds, and it has also decreased slowly'south of Oamaru and Queenstown, but has risen slowly elsewhere. Low pressure exists westward of Kaipara, travelling to south.
