An agreeable' social of the residents was held on Friday, the 21st, in Mr Roe's large room.at.Qrua Bay, to bid farewell to. Mi^a McGee, who is exchanging her position as school (teacher with Miss Gledhill, near Waiuku. Dancing was a feature of the evening's amusement. After refreshments. Mr W. F. Hammond paid a tribute jo, Miss McGee for her steadiness and constancy' ih the conduct of the school during the six years since it was opened as the Orua school.. Mr Harrison returned thanks on her behalf, and all joined., heartily in'expressing..their regret at parting with her; while wishing her health and happinness in making the change. :•. .1 , ■ «
Miss Gledhill has built a, pretty cottaee' on the beach. The summer visitors increase- each year, camping at Orua Bay. A wharf is. in contemplation. ,
