DUNEDIN, J.C. MEETING,
TRAINING NOTES FROM WINGATUL,

DUNEDIN, this day. The morning was very bright and warm for the winding-up gallops in connection with the D.J.C. Meeting, commencing on Wednesday. Dundas did a really g-ood mile and a quarter alone. Lady Dundas was sent' seven furlongs at a good pace, and Cora Linn five furlongs. These horses of Hobbs' are all well. Albert Cutts sent Cannie Chiel a mile and a quarter fast, assisted by, battlecry over the last six furlongs. Vandyke went twice round at a steady pace. Calibre was sent fast over six furlongs with Pallas. Lapidiary and Cameo's task was a mile at a good sound working gallop. Canteen was associated with Lady Lillian in a mile and a quarter gallop. They were picked up by Western Belle at six furlongs, who finished a length in front, but the Cup horse seemed to be easing up. Wild West and Tufto polloped once round, spurting home. Boscobell and Sarchedon galloped half a mile together, the latter ridden by Derritt winning by a length. Savannah did steady work alone. Fulmen did not work this morning, but is expected to be on the course this afternoon. Pampero bruised one of his heels in a gallop on Thursday morning, and will probably not be able to start during the meeting. The injury, however, is not serious.
Our Hamilton correspondent wires that the South Auckland R.C-. privileges were sold on Saturday as follows: — Grandstand booth, £46 10/, Innes and Co.; gates, £40, Montgomery; cards, £5, Waikato "Argus"; luncheon room, £3; Bettley; refreshment stall, £1 15/, Glass) ■horse paddock, £1 17/6, Kelly; total, £98, as against £70 last year.
