The House will probably finish the discussion of the tariff before Easter.
MELBOURNE, Sunday.
The Tariff Committee, has fixed the duty on cement at 9d per cwt. Mr Kingston has promised to carefully consider the representation of the Queensland members of the Federal Parliam-ent to replace the duty on New ZeaJand white pine, and grant a rebate on all wood used for boxes wherein butter is exported.
