Lord Kitchener reports that Colonel Parkes, with a mounted force and 300 National Burgher Scouts, surprised a Boer force at Novitgedacht, on the Delagoa railway line, capturing 164, including Field-Cornet Putoit and Lieutenant Yiljoen.
