LONDON, February 22
Lord Kitchener reports that Colonel Parkes, with a mounted force and 300 National Burgher Scouts, surprised a Boer force at Novitgedacht, on the Delagoa railway line, capturing 164, including Field-Cornet Putoit and Lieutenant Yiljoen.
There were no British casualties
The Queenslanders attached to General Plumer's column captured 12 Boers at Wakkerstroom, north of Natal, on the 19th, while 11 surrendered at Balmoral, between Pretoria and Middlelourg.
