IRONMASTERS. ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting- of *the New? Zealand Ironmasters' Association opened this morning. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr. W. Cable (Wellington) was elected president, and Mr. Alexander Burt (Dunsedin), G. Fraser (Auckland), and J. L. Scott (Christchurch) vice-presi-dents. It was stated that the Association could not be registered under the name "New Zealand," and will therefore be registered under the name "Otago," as the majority of the members reside there.

Mr. L. Weetman, formerly' Commissioner of Waste Lands- in Christchurch, is on his way from Wellington to Auckland, where he will stay some time, leaving by the Gothic for England in March.

The children of the • Parnell Orphan Home returned from their annual outing yesterday, after spending1 a month's pleasant holiday camping' out at Awaroa Bay, Waiheke Island, through the kind permission of Mr Gordon, to whom the Board are greatly indebted for his assiduity in making the children's stay an enjoyable one. The Board further desire to convey their tnanks to the Devonport Ferry Company, Messrs Craig- and Winstone, and J. Martin and Co., for conveying tthe children, to and from the island.

To-morrow the members of St. George's Rowing Chib will compete in sculling: races for a cup presented by Mr E. W. G. Eathbone (one of the vice-presidents of the Club).
