PARNELL SAILING CLUB.
The Parnell Sailing Club's second series of races were held on Saturday afternoon. Mr Jagger's yacht Thelma was the riagship for the occasion, and was well decorated with flags. Mr L. Lewis acted as judge and timekeeper, and Mr S. Kilfoyle as starter. The model yacht race was conducted by Mr W. Winks and Mr Gazard. The following are the results of the races: — 26-Footers: The competitors were: Kotiro (scr.), Of a (3min.), Warangi (6min.)- Of a was a quarter of an hour late in getting away attyr tue other two yachts. A closely contested race took place between Kotiro and Waitangi. On the second time round, Kotiro took the lead and increased her advantage as she went on. The race finished : Kotiro sh. lm. 535., Waitangi sh. 7m. 3s. The latter thus wins by SOsecs. 22-Footers :—The starters were: Waimoa (scr.), Kotare (10m.), Merlin (Una.), Mercia (24m.). Kotare had the best of the start, and Waimoa the worst. Waimoa, however, worked up into the lead as the race progressed and finished first. The finishing times were, Waimoa 4h. 30m.; Merlin 4h. 36m. 65.; Kotare 4h. 39m. 175.; Mercia 4h. 40m. 40s. On time allowance Mercia takes first place, Merlin second, and Kotare third. Patikis :—The competitors were: Rambler (£cr.), Tuna (scr.), Boomerang lm., Eka 2^m. A very close and interesting race resulted in Rambler winning, the times of finishing being: Rambler 4h. 33m. 305.; Eka 4h. 39m. Gs.; Tura 4h. 39m. 75.; Boomerang 4h. 45m. 3secs. Model Yacht Race:—The competing boats were: Tutley, Edna, May, Kotiro 11., St. Crispin. The race resulted in May winning, with St. Crispin second, and Tutley third.
