RIFLE MATCHES.
On Saturday afternoon the members of the Akarana Rifle Club fired competitions at the Avondale rilie range for two gold medals presented by Messrs. Mead Bros, and Mr. E. T. Buchanan for the "A" and "B classes respectively. The conditions in each competition were seven s^ots at 300, 500 and 600 yards. Mr. K. G. Cox won the "A" class trophy with the splendid score of 100 points, which is the second "century" put up by members of the club this season. The total scores of each competitor in the matches were: "A" class—X. G. Cox. 100; C. R. Newell, 97; J. Carlsen, 93; M. Tobin, 92; E. Buchanan, 92; W. Mclntosh, 92; H. Doughty, 90; A. G.
