PARNELL BOROUGH COUNCIL.
At the meeting of the Parnell Borough Council last evening, after the transaction of business, 'Mr Thomas moved: "That this Council expresses its indignation at the, slanderous attacks made on the honour of the British nation and of the. Imperial and Colonial troops by ths Continental press, and records its profound admiration of t;.e manner in which tne Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain has refuted the same." This was carried unanimously.' Mr Rathbone in seconding the resolution, said that the local bodies of small places were often ridiculed for passing- such resolutions, but he thought that on such an occasion as this it was necessary to show how united the community was on the question. The Mayor said he was very much in favour of the resolution, and thanked Mr Thomas for bringing- it forward.
