THE VESSEL PULL OF WATER.
THE CREW SAFE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WESTPORT, Saturday,
The Danish steel barque Alexandra, a vessel of 655 tons, in ballast, bound from Sydney to Westport, is ashore on Brighton Beach, about 30 miles south of West-port. Captain Unkerson, the master of the barque, wired from Charleston this afternoon. The crew are saved. The vessel is in a bad position, and is full oi' water. There are many holes in the vessel's bottom, and the beams are broken and the deck started. He says there is no use to send a tug. No further particulars are available.
