ALLEGED WIFE MURDER

MELBOURNE, this day.
A farmer named Hawkins was arrested .at Bealibra on a charge of murdering his wife. At the inquest the evidence given went to show that the wound which caused death Avas accidentally received by a gun exploding. An open verdict was returned. Since then circumstances have arisen which have led to exhumation of the body, and to a more serious charge being preferred.
