FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT.
GISBORNE, Sunday
Captain A. Thomson, harbourmaster at Gisborne, died this morning, as the result of an accident. Yesterda3" he was out m the country driving, "in company with Captain Thorneson, master of the barque Armenianoa now in port. When about seven miles from town the horse swerved. Thomson accidentally dropped one rein, and the horse then brought the buggy into violent collision with a telegraph post. The occupants were thrown into the ditch, Thomson being badly injured. He was conveyed to the hospital, where he died as stated.
