LONDON, January 10
The Government has appealed for 939G infantry volunteers to replace the vjolunteers serving in South Africa.
Colonel Allenby has recovered the second gun captured from Colonel Benson at the Brakenslaagte reverse. It was hidden in a spruit at Bethel.
Dr. G. B. Clarke, ex-member of the House for Caithness, after consulting the Boers on the Continent, starts £i>v America to urge President Koosevelt to intervene.
Caspar Jacobus, lately representative of Jansenville in the Cape x\ssenibly, has been committed for trial on a charge of treason.
