CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday.
The Premier visited Addington camp to-day, and inspected the men and the various arrangements. He accepted P. Burkes offer to continue catering- till the men embark, -at a reduced rate, a squad from the contingent to do rough work in the kitchen. One hundred horses were allotted and saddlery issued. Eleven men, mostly frbm the Otago quota, are suffering from minor ailments., The camp was open to the public yesterday afternoon. • The supplementary roll has now finally closed.

The parade state of the South Island battalion of the Eighth Contingent taken this morning shows the total number of all ranks to be 4G7.
