VITALITY and ENERGY WASTED AWAY.

As Weak as a Kitten,

The Case of Mrs. D. MAGHER.

(By Our Reporter.)

A reporter was recently despatched to the residence of Mrs. Dalie Magher, Shakespeare-road, Napier, to ascertain the amount of truth connected with an overheard conversation.

"May I trouble you for particulars relating to your recent troubles?" "You are quite welcome to all tho information I can 'give you," was Mrs. Magher's reply. "I think it would be almost criminal if I withheld from the world the secret of my marvellous recovery from a number of complaints which nearly killed me. I was living in New Plymouth at the time I speak of. From a state of natural brightness and vigour I noticed myself daily becoming dull, and heavy depressing headaches were my constant companions. Instead of going about my work with light-hearted briskness I dawdled about the house like one in a trance....* JVIy vitality and energy were slowly running away, and it was not long before I was as weak as a kitten."

"How do you account for such a change ?" "Through the diseased condition of ray liver, so the_ doctors said. I had terribly acute pains under my shoulders, which felt as though a knife was continually piercing me. I hael drooping shoulders ih consequence of these pains, as the torture was beyond endurance whenever I tried to stand up straight. My limbs were always aching, but especially so on rising from bed in the mornings. I oould not understand how it was that I could not sleep, as I felt drowsy all day and wakeful at night. It made me very crotchety to .be turning about in bed all night without closing my eyes, and I was frightened and nervous at the least noise. I was in such a state of nervous terror that I was always on the alert in ease of evil happening. If a dog walked round the house during the night I thought it was a man, and I lay listening in fear and trembling till I was assured thero was no danger. My appetite was very poor. I ate but little; but the a^ony I suffered after eating was something awful. The food lay Tike a ton weight on my chest, making it painful to breathe but the sense of suffocation was sometimes! so 'bad that I thought I would be choked. Violent fits of retching and vomiting came on, when I threw up a bitter, yellowish fluid, tha taste of which was never absent from my mouth. My tongue was coated, with an objectionable moisture, and my breath, was bad. In my back and loins I had sharp pains which nearly made me faint. Every bit of colour left my face, and my eyes were as dull and drowsy-looking as it is possible to imagine, besides having specks floating before them. By the time my disease had a firm hold of me I was entirely without an appetite. No matter how hard I tried I could not swallow a mouthful of food."

"You must have got very thin." "Yes, you're right. I was as thin and weak as a ghost. But yet another affliction came upon me. My nerves were completely unstrung, and I became subject to vile attacks of neuralgia. Excruciating shooting pains came in my neck and all over my race, and even my eyes twitched with darting agony. I had several teeth drawn, thinking the cause of my suffering lay in that direction. But this great sacrifice did not. give me any ease. I was nearly mad. My constitution wa_j broken down completely, and I was low-spirited and depressed beyond measure. Life was not worth living, and as I could get no relief from my heart-rending tortures I longed to die. Two doctors attended and prescribed for me, yet they could do nothing for me." "How was your health restored ?" "By taking a course of Clements Tonic, which I was advised to do. The prompt relief from pain which Clements Tonic afforded me makes me ever grateful. I was soon able to straighten myself up, and my appetite returned. Clements Tonic cured my neuralgia, removed all nervousness, and built up my shattered constitution, besides making me sleep peacefully. My health was made perfect by Clements Tonic, and my old complaints have never since returned. Publish these fact, in any way you desire for the benefit of other sufferers."
