ROAD BOARD MEETING.
The ordinary meeting of the Mount Eden Road Board was held n Monday, 6th inst., when there were present —Messrs. R. Udy (chairman), C. J. Tunks, O. Nicholson, C. Hudson and R. R. Ross. The business was mostly connected with road works, and public health matters. The Board re-appointed Mr. Carpenter to be registrar of Dogs, forr the ensuing year and the tax was fixed at 5/. Report was made by the foreman of works upon, footpaths needing tarring and sanding, a schedule of which, together with his report upon road receied. The Board balances were reported to be in credit, except on genral account, which was in dbit £161 9/9. Rates collected since last report, £303 9/3; accounts were passed for payment amounting to £105 12/9.
It was resolved to inform the Mt. Eden Ratepayers' Association, in reply to their letter re tramways, that the Board do not think it advisable to publish the correspondence, and that they have luriushed as full information respecting the negotiations as are desirable in the interests of the district. With regard to their request to thegpoard to secure a new office site, the Board do not think it expedient at the present time to make any change in the site of the office.
