THAMES, this day
There is no doubt that the district between the Thames and Taeroa is making rapid progress. The extension of creameries is an important factor towards that end.
The Hauraki Band, who are proceeding to the baud contest at New Plymouth, intend holding a floral fete. Preliminary arrangements are now being undertaken.
The Recruiting Board of the Thames district is still receiving ap« plications for enrolment in the Eighth Contingent or additional sections of the contingent. Altogether almost eighty names were put in for twenty vacancies.
it is stated that particulars of the Hauraki Freeholds Uoldmining Company's property at Coromandel are to be taken Home, with the intention of floating- or to obtain additional capital. Reports from the mine are said to be very satisfactory.
