LONDON, January 8
General French states that police supervision of Cape Colony is confined to a triangle from Rhodes to Barkley Pass, thence returning to Rhodes. He reports that the Boers in the north-east . Cape Colony are so reduced in numbers and fighting power that the district requires only elaborate police supervision.
