WELLINGTON, this day.
Wlnd~A gale from between north east and north west at all places northward of Tauranga and Manukau; from between north east and south east after from 12 to 20 hours in all other parts of the Nortn Island; strong to moderate north east to cart and south winds elsewhere. Barometer—Fall everywhere. g ea —Heavy on eastern coast northward of East Cape, considerable easterly swell thence southward, and considerable northerly sea southward from Manukau to New Plymouth and Farewell Spit; moderate elsewhere. Tides—High on eastern coast north of East Cape, and on western coast north of Cape Egmont; poor thence to Foxton and on west coast of South Island; goofl ' elsewhere. Rain - Expected in the North Island generally. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tiritiri, for easterly gales at Cape Foulwind and Farewell Spit. Synopsis of last 24 hours—Slowly in-, creasing pressure everywhere; with strong to moderate easterly winds everywhere. Low pressure has crossed the North Island from about Kaipara to S.E. Pressure is low in the Tasman Sea, and travelling to S.E., but decreasing in energy.
