NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CJTRTSTCTT1 TRCTT, Wednesday
At a meeting of the Now Zealand Trotting Association to-night the secretary of the Masterton Trotting Club wrote slating that the disqualification of the horse Allen had been decided upon by the same stewards who considered the protest against Trafalgar. The writer stated that four of the stewards who sat on the case were financially interested. A resolution was carried that the association expressed its surprise that stewards so placed should have 'taken part in the inquiry, and, as a protest against such conduct, it was decided to return Samuel's appeal deposits. With reference to the case of Kilrush, at the Winton Jockey Club's meeting, Gardiner, the owner of Skip, the second horse, asked the association to reconsider'its decision, arguing that Travis was training Kilrush prior to his disqualification being removed. On going into the matter again the association decided to recommend the club to give the race to Skip, and to write to Agnew, the employer of Travis, and the trainer of Kilrush, to state why he, a licensed trainer, should not be dealt with according to the rules. Sutton, the owner of Kilrush, wrote that if that horse was not awarded the stake it could not be given to Skip, as his rider was ineligible to ride. This was referred to the club, which will also be informed that the question of returning fotalisator investments to the backers of Kilrush was for it to decide. At the request of D. Douglass, Tamaki East, and on the recommendation of the secretary of the Otahuhu Trotting Club, it was decided to remove the dis qualification from Miss Munro (late Elirt). The recommendation of the Tahuna Park Trotting Club to remove the disqualification inflicted upon G. Wallace for alleged ringing-in of the horse Kelt in 1809 was not acceded to.
