NORTH TRUNK RAILWAY.

MANGAWEKA, Friday,

Mr W. J. Napier inspected the Mangaweka viaduct to-day. The work is -well advanced. The formation is • all complete to this point, with the exception of one small culvert requiring three weeks to complete, otherwise all is! ready for sleepers to the viaduct ax | Mang-aweka. Mr Napier left here for Taihape at four o'clock, j Mr Napier, acting on local advice, de- j cided to push on over the.line and go; to Auckland without returning to New Plymouth. /It reaches Turangarere to-morrow night.

TITIKU, Friday,

Mr Napier passed through here today, having been engaged inspecting the railway formation between here and Mangaweka.. He found the formation in a state of complete preparedness for sleepers. He found a very large quantity of totara sleepers stacked on the route. He states he is satisfied so far at the progress made, and that it is evident the speedy completion of the railway is only delayed by the viaduct.
