Sir, —Now that Lieutenant Steele and his two comrades have been pardoned, permit me to suggest that our worthy Mayor writes to Lord Roberts by the outgoing mail expressing the citizens' joy at their release, and a hope that full reparation will be made them for what they have unjustly suffered. The indignity of the ■whole thing has been keenly felt by all loyal colonists the world over, —lam, etc., TRIUMPHANT.
