A handsomely framed illuminated address has been presented to -^ r J^E. Button. It is the work of -Mr V Gulliver, who has as usual done tbe sketches and text admirably. The address is presented upon tbe retirement of Mr Button after thirteen years' continuous service as Mayor of Birkenhead, as an appreciation of that gentleman's, efforts for tbe wetfare and prosperity of the borongh, and to assure him that his zeal, etc., in that direction would ever be held in grateful remembrance.
