EXAMINATION OF MASTERS AND MATES.
The following additional regulation for •the conduct of examination's' of masters and mates appears in the "New Zealand. Gazette":—"On and after July 1, 1901, the revised edition of the International Code of Signals will be used in the examination of candidates for certificates of competency as masters and mates, in the same maimer as the previous edition has hitherto been used." The following have recently passed successfully the Marine Board's examination: —Mr A..Sterling.as: master (restricted limit-) and Mr J. Johnston as master. Home trade.
