gi r> —Wi]] you allow me to correct a lapsus calami which occurred in my letter to you on the administration of chloroform. I therein used the ex pres-
sion "an ignorant coroner's jury," meaning to imply that the jury was ignorant —not the coroner. 1 should have thought no human being of Engliah birth or origin could have mistaken my meaning, but it has been mistaken, and so I desire to substitute for it "a jury ignorant of medical science." It does not follow that such a jury may not be well educated and intelligent in other matters. I advocate a tribunal ut impartial persons, partly lay a-nd partly medical, not chosen at haphazard, but permanently appointed. —I ami, etc.,
