GERMAN "JACK THE RIPPER."
A notorious "Jack the Kipper," who assaulted and mutilated about 18 women, has been caught rcd-handod at Ludwjgshafen by two detectives dressed as young women. Some weeks ago a cattle drover named Damlan was arrested for a criminal assault, and i< was suspected that lie was the author of the other crimes, but only the one, case could be proved against him. The man now in custody is a native of the place, and only the night before his arrest attacked a married woman. On Monday he made a full confession. He said that his name was Ludwig Graai, and that he was 25 years of age. He had been a foreman on the Palatinate Railway works. lie had for certain reasons sworn vengeance against all women. The prisoner also attributed his deeds to the reuding of sensational novels.
