The Premier has assured Mr \Milford there will be an inquiry into the iNewtown Park scandal. Mr Wilford, however, is not satisfied with a mere Departmental inquiry, and presses for a public inquiry before three commissioners,'one nominated by the men, another by the Department, and a. third (who shall be chairman) to be a Stipendiary Magistrate with experience with volunteering. W. Wheeler,-.}-.--Parker. J. G. Wilson, for Mana,watu anil West Coast; Messrs C. Buchanan. A. Matthews, and J. Stuckey for -Wairarapa;Messrs P. MeSaruey. W. Birch and T. Crosse for Hawko's Bay. The Auckland A. and P. Association will elect one member to represent the Auckjland district, and the Gisborne A. and jP. Association elect one member to : represent Gisborne district.
